It's a Good Day to be a Knight!

Celebrating Newcastle’s Student Achievement

Posted Date: 10/15/26 (01:53 PM)

Newcastle Families,

The 2025–26 state assessment results have been released, and we have some wonderful news to celebrate. Among TK–8 school districts in Placer County, Newcastle ranked:

Subject Students Meeting or Exceeding Standards County Ranking
English Language Arts 75.58% 1st
Mathematics 64.64% 2nd
Science 71.56% 1st

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff. These results reflect the hard work students put into their learning and the skill, care, and commitment our teachers and staff bring to school every day.

Test scores are only one measure of a successful school, but these results also reflect Newcastle’s culture. Our students know they are supported, challenged, and cared for. Our staff knows each student well and works together to provide the instruction and support they need to succeed.

Families play an essential role in building and maintaining that culture. Your support for learning at home, communication with teachers, participation in school activities, and reinforcement of our shared expectations all make a difference.

Our Board of Trustees has supported this work through a “back to basics” approach to governance. The Board maintains a strong, trusting relationship with administration and staff through open and transparent communication. This provides the stability and focus needed to keep students at the center of our decisions.

The partnership among students, staff, families, and the Board is one of the things that makes Newcastle such a special place. This is an achievement our entire school community can celebrate.

Thank you for your trust, partnership, and continued support of our students and staff. It is a great day to be a Newcastle Knight!
